Comments and replies#
- Submit only content that is yours to submit. No paywalled material, private correspondence, nor other people's copyrighted work.
- Anyone can read your notes so be mindful.
- I may remove notes that are abusive, off-topic, spam, illegal, or in breach of these terms.
- Your IP is logged for 30 days when you submit a note or reply. See the privacy policy.
- You retain ownership of your notes, and you agree to grant the site a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to keep them attached to the post they were left on and to display them in the public comment rail.
Accounts#
- A username with no password is unreserved, anyone can write notes and replies under it.
- A username with a password is reserved to whoever knows the password.
- The
authorbadge next to a username is the only indication of the admin account. All other usernames without this badge are not affiliated with this website regardless of what they may claim. - Squatting a username with the intent to impersonate someone or to deny it to its prior holder is a breach of these terms. The intent of password-less writing is to remove the burden of needing an account for such a minor online interaction.
Content licence#
Posts (excluding quoted excerpts and obvious attributions) are copyright of the post's author. They are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial reading. You may quote a paragraph or two with attribution and a link back to the post. To reproduce a whole post, syndicate it, or use it in a commercial work, get my written consent.
Code snippets inside posts are MIT licensed unless the post says otherwise.
Forbidden uses#
Doing any of the following on the site, or against the site, is a breach of these terms.
- Automated commenting
- Illegal content: anything unlawful where you are, where I am, or where the server is hosted.
- Harassment: targeted abuse, slurs, personal attacks, or contact aimed at intimidating someone.
- Impersonation
- Hacking, denial of service, spam

Changes#
I may revise these terms. The updated date at the top reflects the last change. Continued use after a change means you accept the new version.

The site is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. I make no promise that it will be available, accurate (I will do my best), or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or anything you read on it.
